Mode City and Interfilière head to Lyon

Eurovet has announced Mode City and Interfilière will move to Lyon for its July 2016 edition, as Paris prepares to host the final of the Euro 2016. The impact of such a large-scale event on hotel occupancy, airlines and the rise in prices in accommodation already observed near Porte de Versailles prompted the decision to move.

Linked by roads to many nearby countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, Lyon is also a centre for textiles, arts and culture, and hosts well-known international events such as the Biennale de la Danse and the Light Festival. The two leading shows left Lyon for Paris in 2008, and since then Lyon has increased its hotel capacity and accessibility. A new layout for Paris Mode City

Mode City will once again lead the way for fashion, couture, beachwear and lingerie collections at Porte de Versailles, bringing together over 450 exhibiting brands from 40 countries. For the 2015 edition, the show will launch a new architectural concept with an improved floor plan and innovative services designed to shake up old habits and inspire new connections.

The new trade show layout has creativity at its core with the Limited Edition sector for young designers, the Trends Forum and Eurovet consulting services at the centre of the pavilion. Stands in this area will have lower 1.5m walls and sector leaders will be positioned in an amphitheatre arrangement, giving a more balanced presentation to the Mode City stands.

Mode City and Interfiliere will have two shared entrances and pre-registered visitors will access the pavilion via a raise walkway overlooking the two trade shows, allowing for a 360° view. For better trade show circulation, Mode City will also use a blue line on the floor to create a clear pathway through all show sectors: Just Fashion, Accessories, Designer Labels, The Essentials and Cocooning, Limited Edition and Super Heroes.

One of the high spots of the catwalk was the presentation of the Maryan Mehlhorn collections for Summer 2015: vibrant floral patterns with eye-catching colours and solids, all complemented by elegant dresses and stylish tunics.

The collections can also be seen at the London Swimwear Show this month and Moda Lingerie & Beachwear Exhibition in August.

It’s show season!

Buyers and exhibitors from all over the world gathered this past weekend in Paris for this international leading fair. Paris Mode City continues to bring innovation and drive the market forward and new attractions for this summer included The Trends Boutique and a ‘Super Heroes’ space for men.

Catwalk shows, an in-depth look at the most important markets, a rich conference programme and a selection of promising new brands were also presented to the public at the event. Returning after its successful debut in 2013, Absolute Summer once again proved a hit despite the occasional rainy weather.

The event open to the general public presented swimwear, underwear and accessories, complete with pampering stands, catwalk shows and Zumba presentations across all 3 days. And kicking off a summer of celebrations for Underlines’ Silver Jubilee, selected exhibitors, buyers, retailers and friends were invited to toast with us at the Network Dessous stand. Interfilière to put the spotlight on fibres

The July 2014 Interfilière Paris trade show will welcome visitors into the world of textiles with a special focus on fibres, it was announced by Eurovet at a press conference in London this week.

With an ever longer list of consumer requirements to satisfy, the fibre selection process is becoming increasingly strategic: softness, elasticity, lightness, strength and flexibility are just a few of the performance criteria taken into account when designing textiles. The show will offer an in-depth insight through a dedicated space and conferences, helping designers choose what works best for their projects.

At the event, it was also previewed the new sportswear range by Designer of the Year, Melissa Odabash (pictured above). Paying special attention to comfort with fine fabrics and creating glamorous, elegant designs, Melissa’s upmarket swimwear collections are distributed in more than 50 countries and coveted by international stars.
